How we built near real-time “X for you” recommender systems at Bol
At Bol, we have observed a significant increase in engagement and conversion rates since implementing a personalized product feed, prominently featured on customers' homepages as "Top deals for you". Building on this success, we have extended the feed to also include "Top picks for you," and "New for you". These personalized feed systems curate the most relevant items for each customer's homepage using a combination of their recent and historical item interactions.

Forecasting demand at bol.com during the COVID-19 pandemic

While governments and health organisations seek to find solutions to this global humanitarian crisis, online retailers have been put to the test of how well they can serve their customers’ needs during these challenging times. Product Management Journey at the Purpose Hackathon 2023
As a member of Team Paradise, our journey through the Purpose Hackathon 2023 was an exhilarating experience that provided valuable insights into product management and problem-solving. Over the course of four days, we engaged in a rigorous process of problem exploration, ideation, and solution-building, with a focus on making sustainable assortment more attractive to customers.
With a growing microservice landscape, the importance of aggregation layers is also increasing. For some of these aggregation services we are trying Facebook’s GraphQL, with two of them now running on our production environment. We've found that one of the drawbacks in using GraphQL is maintenance on both domain models and GraphQL queries.
