Product Management Journey at the Purpose Hackathon 2023
As a member of Team Paradise, our journey through the Purpose Hackathon 2023 was an exhilarating experience that provided valuable insights into product management and problem-solving. Over the course of four days, we engaged in a rigorous process of problem exploration, ideation, and solution-building, with a focus on making sustainable assortment more attractive to customers.
The hackathon was a chance to showcase the product-led way of working we introduced to bol last year, while working on a topic that is important to all of us; Sustainability!
I recently had the opportunity to attend Frontmania, a front-end conference held in Utrecht. It was an incredible experience filled with insightful talks, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities with fellow front-end enthusiasts. We’ll address a common problem: no actions and/or actors are defined. In the beginning of August, data science teams at bol.com came together for a dynamic two-day datathon. Collaborating with different teams from different disciplines, their mission was to re-imagine how we discover similar products. This innovative approach involved combining the insights of text (titles/descriptions) and images. To achieve this, they converted both text and image data into vectors and then find similar products by for example using a Faiss index and other.
