High-Traffic locations in the experience economy

The value is in the experience. But how to capture this value? Companies should focus on enhancing and enchanting their customer experiences and aligning their business on their response to customer demand. This goes beyond the online experiences. The customers are walking and moving everywhere and their behaviour and expectations change. Martijn Steur from Kinetic Consultancy brings the business and the experience together for his clients. What are the challenges when designing customer journeys for a High-Traffic location, such as an airport? How does the transition of value take place and how can you translate them? Change stores into stories. Martijn will take us on the journey of the challenges within High-Traffic locations specifically the future of shopping and how airport were, are and should be evolving.

“The value is in the experience: it won’t go down in price, and no one can steal it.”

Martijn Steur from Kinetic Consultancy is a consultant specialised in strategy development and execution, focused on High-Traffic Locations and service organisations. His goal is to help organisations improve their customer experiences and build their business. With a 15+ year background in developing these customer experiences in as many different countries, he has established a true global view. He is a Certified Experience Professional – a practitioner and consultant on the strategic and tactical ways to support organisations increasing their added value in their customer experiences and grow their business.

Climbing the mountain – Maturing UX in a corporate environment

7 years ago Exact hired their first UX designers. The company recognized that it took specialists to make their business software easy to use. Cause for a celebration! But that was just the first step....

Carina Palumbo and Joline Boschman are going to tell us how they deal with legacy in the software, proving that you are more than a window dresser, growing a team that made an impact, creating a UX vision and maturing UX processes.

"The challenges we had to face were endless. But we’re getting closer and closer to the top of the mountain. Exact is working on a design system, and we have a team in place that spreads Design Thinking beyond designers. In this talk we will take you with us, from 7 years ago to now, on our journey up the mountain of UX in a corporate environment, and what’s ahead: planting our UX flag at the top!"

Carina Palumbo has been with Exact for a bit more than 2 years. She has worked as a UX designer and researcher for the horizontal user experience team at Exact. She just started leading the UXBoost team; a new team that will empower UXers and spread design-thinking across the organization. She holds a BA in Visual Communication Design, a Msc in Information Studies and has 7 years work experience in the UX and design field.

Joline Boschman has worked for Exact for 6 years; first as a UX designer and now as product marketing manager for the horizontal user experience team. She graduated as a MSc in Design for Interaction at the TU Delft and has close to 10 years of work experience in the UX field.
